Who we are

We The People: Cloquet Area Indivisible is a grassroots, volunteer-led group working to protect democracy, support our communities, and build a more just and inclusive future in northern Minnesota. We began as a small network of people looking for connection and support in the wake of the election. Since then, we have grown into an active, engaged community organizing locally and collaborating across the region and state.Today, we focus our energy on work that makes a real impact. We educate, organize, and take action together. We show up for our neighbors. And we are building something that lasts.

Our Vision

We the People, Cloquet Area, Indivisible, are fighting for a democracy that upholds the constitution, follows the rule of law, protects civil rights, and serves all people with equity, dignity, and accountability. Our guiding principle is a healthy democracy, where our government and its agencies treat all people humanely, equitably, and respectfully, and where an informed public has the freedom to voice diverse and differing opinions without fear of government retribution and vote in safe, free and fair elections.

Our mission is to stop authoritarianism and to promote, practice, and defend democracy. We do this through:

Supporting one another
Growing our group, building solidarity, and providing mutual assistance to those impacted by this regime.

Educating ourselves and the public
Unmasking this regime’s lies and informing our members and the public of their democratic rights and responsibilities, equipping them with the skills and confidence to take action to strengthen our democracy

Acting to resist this regime’s attacks on democracy
Defeating authoritarianism and creating a stronger democratic foundation through non-violent protest, advocacy, visibility and awareness; developing new leaders, education, communication, service projects, providing mutual assistance and supporting pro-democracy candidates
